Refund policy

We want you to love your happy finds from Trinkets and Co: A Little Everyday Happiness! If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we're here to help.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.


1. 🇿🇦 ECTA Compliance: Your Statutory 7-Day Cooling-Off Right

The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) provides consumers with a statutory "cooling-off period" for online purchases.

7-Day Right of Withdrawal (ECTA Section 44): You are entitled to cancel your purchase and return the goods for any reason whatsoever, without penalty, within 7 calendar days of the confirmed delivery date (as determined by the carrier's tracking data).

Actionable Step: To exercise this right, you must contact us at info@trinketsco.co.za within the 7-day period to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed instructions.

Cost of Return: The consumer is only required to bear the direct cost of the return shipping. All other amounts paid by the consumer (excluding the original shipping charges) will be refunded promptly.


2. General Eligibility and Procedure

This section applies to all returns, including those initiated under ECTA.

Return Window: Items must be requested for return and shipped back within 30 calendar days of the confirmed delivery date.

Item Condition Requirement: Returned items must be received in original, unused, and resalable condition—free of damage, stains, pet hair, odors (e.g., smoke or perfume), and wear. All original packaging, tags, and accessory components must be included. Items failing to meet these standards will be rejected and returned to the customer at their expense.

Return Authorization (RMA): All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Do not send items back without first contacting us at info@trinketsco.co.za to receive the RMA number and detailed shipping instructions. Returns received without a valid RMA number may be subject to a 15% restocking fee or refusal.


3. Non-Returnable Items (Final Sale)

For hygiene and safety, and due to the nature of certain products, the following items are considered Final Sale and cannot be returned or exchanged (unless faulty):

Consumables and Personal Care: Candles, wax melts, body scrubs, bath bombs, soaps, and lip balms (if the original seal or packaging is broken or used).

Pierced Jewelry: Earrings, due to strict hygiene protocols.

Custom or Personalized Items.

Gift Cards.

Sale or Clearance Items explicitly marked as "Final Sale."


4. Refund Processing

Inspection: Upon receipt, returned goods will be inspected within 5–7 business days.

Approved Refund: If approved, the refund will be applied to the original payment method. Please allow an additional 5–10 business days for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

Return Shipping Costs: The customer is responsible for all costs associated with return shipping. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance, as Trinkets and Co is not liable for items lost or damaged in return transit.

Original Shipping: Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
